Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-01-24

Your privacy is non-negotiable. Jurnily is designed to help you understand yourself, not for us to understand you. This policy outlines exactly how your data is handled.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: When you sign up via Google, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture to create and manage your account.
  • User Content: The journal entries, images, and chat messages you voluntarily create within the application.
  • Usage Data: Minimal metadata about when you access the application to ensure security and performance.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • Service Provision: To store your journal entries and allow you to access them across devices.
  • Authentication: To verify your identity and prevent unauthorized access to your vault.
  • AI Analysis: To provide the core "Jurnily Analyzer" and "Oracle" features (summaries, insights, and philosophical feedback).

3. Google User Data

If you choose to sign in with Google ("Google Sign-In"), Jurnily accesses the following Google user data:

  • Data Accessed: Your name, email address, language preference, and profile picture.
  • Data Usage: This information is used strictly for authentication (logging you in) and account identification (displaying your name/avatar). We do not access your contacts, calendar, Gmail, or Drive files.
  • Data Sharing: Google user data is not shared with any third parties other than our secure database provider (Supabase) for storage purposes. It is never sold to advertisers or data brokers.

Jurnily's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. AI Processing & Third Parties

To generate insights, your text is processed by third-party AI providers (Google Gemini API).

  • We transmit your journal text securely to the API for the sole purpose of generating analysis and embeddings.
  • Your data is not used to train their public models (we utilize enterprise-tier agreements where applicable).
  • We do not share your personal data with these providers beyond what is necessary for the inference (the text itself).

5. Data Ownership & Sharing

You own your data. All journal entries, insights, and chats belong to you. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.

6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data.

  • Right to Access: You can request an export of all your journal entries.
  • Right to be Forgotten: You may delete your account at any time. This action permanently wipes all your entries, vectors, and analysis data from our servers.
  • Right to Rectification: You can edit or update your entries at any time.

7. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us through the "Contact" form in the application or email us at support@jurnily.com.
